More about this scene
The first swimming baths in Stourbridge opened in 1901. This outdoor pool opened in 1923 and was modernised in 1939. Today the baths are all indoors in the Crystal Leisure Centre which opened in 1989, an appropriate name for a town with a long tradition of producing fine glass. The sign on the railings reads 'Warning - non swimmers not to go beyond this point', although it is difficult to tell which is the shallow and which the deep end.
