A Memory of Stevenage.

I MOVED TO STEVENAGE LIKE MOST YOUNG PEOPLE AT THAT TIME TO GET A HOUSE YOU HAD NO CHANCES ELSEWHERE MY BROTHER ALREADY LIVED THERE SO I WAS ABLE TO LODGE WITH HIM
GOT A JOB AT BEA SYSTEMS AS AN AID STOREKEEPER HAVING BEEN TOLD I WOULD GET ONE AFTER 3 MONTHS ASKED AFTER THE 3 MONTHS NO HOUSE TO BE HAD.
SO I LEFT AND WENT TO KODACKS WORKED IN THE STORES ON THE COLOUR PHOTO PARTS
THIS HAD THE GOOD CHANCE OF A HOUSE
TWO WEEKS BEFORE MY NOW WIFE AND I WHERE MARRIED I WAS CALLED IN TO THE NEW TOWN OFFICES AND OFFERED A ONE BEDROOMED FLAT MY THEN FUTURE WIFE SAID THAT WE NEEDE A HOUSE AS WE ABOUT TO GET WED WHICH CAUGHT THE CORPORATION OUT A BIT SO THEY OFFERED US SOME OF THEIR RELETS WE TOOK 55 GONEVILLE CRESCENT LOVES WOOD
AT THAT TIME YOU COULD LOOK OUT OVER FEILDS TO THE PIG AND WHISTLE PUB
AFTER 2 YEARS I LEFT KODACKS AND WENT TO POWER SARMUS
SADLY 4MONTHS LATER MY FATHER IN LAW DIED OF A LIVER PROBLEM AND MY LADY AND I RETURNED TO CARSHALTON IN SURREY TO LOOK AFTER HER MUM BUT I HAVE SUCH GOOD MEMORIES OF STEVENAGE SHOPPING AT FINE FAIRS ON FRIDAY FISH AND CHIPS THEN SITTING DOWN TO WATCH THE FLINTSTONES ON TELE HOW I MISS THE 60S THINGS WERE SO MUCH BETTER THEN ROCK AND ROLL AND SINGERS WHO COULD SING NOT SHOUT AND SCREAM
