I don't suppose you remember a couple called Idwal and Marion James that lived in 18 Havelock Court in Havelock Road? I'm doing some research and trying to locate their family. Any information may help.
Can you tell us a bit about the Greyhound Track ? I have a photo of an uncle, who lived in Southall, with greyhounds on a leash. I had no idea that there was a track in Southall
Hi all I lived in Clifton Road Southall from 1947 - 1969. My dad, Frank Wallace, worked at the Greyhound Track in Havelock Road. He used to drive the hare at meetings! I remember the old chap called Chukie, referred to above, as he did odd jobs for my dad. George Perry was the manager of the track and he was married to Vi. They were my aunt and uncle. My other aunt and uncle who lived in that area were Florrie and Ernie Newman. I fondly remember summer holidays with my dad at the track doing a few jobs - it was always sunny!! The owner of the dog track was a man I knew as Mr Jones, who lived in Amersham.
