Skegness, Grand Parade 1899

More about this scene
Beyond the Clock Tower the gaps were filled in by Edwardian hotels. The bracing element of Skegness is amply demonstrated by the ladies' umbrella skills in the foreground. The seafront buildings, elegant and stately, behind them have been jollified, and those on the right have a brash ground floor projection for the neon and multiple light-bulbed Casino.
