This imposing cottage was for the important Head Gardener, who had over 80 gardeners under his control. The greenhouses provided most of the pot plants and flowers which were used in the house, and were used to cultivate roses, tomatoes and orchids. The public are not allowed into the cottage or this part of the estate.
