West Ashton Street

A Memory of Salford.

Marrion Madden, I was also born on West Ashton st, 1948, and remember the Off Licence on the corner. Wasn't the greengrocers opposite owned by Read, who had a daughter Marion who married Arthur Rylance and they had a grocer shop on the corner of My St, the next street ?

My father was brought up on West Ashton Street. They lived at no 18. I know he was there, aged 10 in 1949. He was the middle of 5 children. The eldest was Enid, Donald, Larry, Elaine and John.
I'm interested in any information about the street and environs. Thank you
Hi all - I am trying to find information and any possible photos of my grandparents corner shop on West Ashton street. My grandparents were Ernest Hope and Dorothy Hope (nee Meadowcroft) my mum Dorothy Hope was born in 1938 and lived there until around 1956. Anyone have any recollection of them? I do not have any photos of the shop or my grandfather Ernest and would love to find some.
