More about this scene
The building has a great number of vertical beams not much more than a hand's span apart. This is an indication of the age of the building: after 1500, even in Essex, oaks became scarce for building because they were needed for the Tudor navies. By 1965, the building on the left, which was a shop in 85118, has become a private dwelling.
