We can see Pendle Hill and Black Hill in the background. Beside Sabden Brook stands the church of St Nicholas, built in 1846. A countryside of varied beauty accounts for the caravan site. Popular Sabden attractions are Pendle Antiques Centre in Union Street and Pendle Toy and Train Museum. A favourite walk is down the valley between the rivers Calder and Ribble. The climb to the pass of Nick o' Pendle is another favourite.

Going Back.
I lived in Sabden for a short time in the mid 60,s.it had a big effect on me,probably as i was in my early teens.I have always longed to go back,but some how never got around to it. I am now the wrong side of 60 with a few health problems.i suppose this could be a "bucket list" thing.i lived at 3 Thorn st and my bedroom faced Pendle Hill.A view i would love to see again.Apart from walking through the village,i would also like to ...see more

A Very Dear Friend Who Lived In Sabden
A dear friend, Miss Reumah Cockshutt, lived with her father, mother, brother and two sisters at 10 Whins Avenue, Sabden. It was a tragic life as her brother Stephen was killed by a kick from a horse whilst serving in the army. The Corner Shop
My father came from Sabden, his father and mother, my grandparents, owned a corner shop in the same street as a cotton mill. My father joined the Metropolitan Police in London and married my mother who was born in London. During the Blitz my mother took me to Sabden to live with my grandparents while she went back to London to work in an aircraft factory, leaving me with my grandparents. Growing Up In Sabden
I was born and brought up in Sabden and loved living there, it holds many very happy memories for me. I was born in 1956 Susan Rushton and went to the Nursery School at the Baptist Church Hall before going to Sabden Primary School. I returned to the Baptist Church Hall in my teens as the Youth Club was held there on a Friday night, if anyone remembers these times I would like to hear from them. I have three brothers and two sisters.

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
