More about this scene
The Garden of Rest is on the left of this photograph, in which we can also see the colonnade which enabled visitors to shop under cover all down one side of the Pantiles. The clock advertising the Regency Restaurant was installed in 1924. Above the clock on the right-hand side at the top of the gable there is a clay pestle and mortar, put there by the chemist A Nicholson in 1884.
