More about this scene
On the left outside Rodber's furniture and floor coverings shop can be seen tables, beds and a chest of drawers, and also their delivery van. Cookes next door was a printer and stationer selling postcards, and then came A G Metcalfe, a baker with café, and R S Corner, a confectioner. Beyond, the grocer between the banks was now Singleton's. On the right, in front of the Toll Booth gable-end, is a weighbridge.
