Royal Hotel Rhymney

A Memory of Rhymney.

Hi
Has anyone got any memories of the Royal Hotel, Rhymney and of the Lewis family who ran it until Vic Lewis died in 1956? I am researching my husband's family history and he was born in that pub!!
Thank you.

The royal hotel was my regular in 1969/75. The landlord at the time was John and Mary Lowther. The guy that was behind the bar on a regular basis was a chap called ernie. Then the next landlord was a local called man Tim Buckley. I used to play chess at the bar with is son Michael .
Lewis family, hi my husband is William philip Griffiths, his father Michael Griffiths we believe was born in the hotel to Mary irene ann Lewis in 1940, who had a brother ernest vietor philip lewis, clifford gerald lewis, sister doris lewis. Is any of this helpful, doing the family tree as we speak.
Their parents Catherine jane lewis and Philip lewis. Also a servant named elizabeth Thomas lived with them.
