Redditch, Garden Of Remembrance c.1955

More about this scene
Green-painted iron gates inscribed 'In memory of the fallen' open into the Garden of Remembrance from Plymouth Road, just round the corner from the bus station. The cenotaph does not look quite so pristine these days: the plaque is missing, and the niche containing the eternal flame is guarded on both sides by ugly plastic panels.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."- Laurence Binyon, For The Fallen
