Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Wednesday 18th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Wednesday 18th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Thursday 2nd January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

I was resident in Plymouth up until 1963 when I moved to Exeter. However, between 1959 and 1963 I was a Red Cross volunteer at the Plympton Ambulance Station and did duties at weekends. The old Devon County Ambulance service was provided by St John Ambulance and British Red Cross and the latter ran the Plympton station. I lived in Hele Gardens Plympton St Maurice in the 1950.s and attended Plympton Grammar School as did my wife. Does any one remember the name of the vicar of Plympton St,Maurice at that time? I think he had a close relation serving in the RAF. When I was at junior school (I was born in 1946) my maternal Granddad lived in Morley Cottages in Colebrook and worked in the signal box at Plympton Station. I lived in Molesworth Rd, down the road from Plympton Grammar School and often used to walk home from Geasons Lane Primary School via the signal box just to see my Granddad. My family moved from Battisborough Cross, Holbeton in 1938, I was 9 years old. I think my dad bought 6 Clifton Estate, Colebrook in 1938 for 250 quid brand new. I attended Plympton Senior School and later Warrans on North Hill, Plymouth (The school no longer exists) I entered H.M.Dockyard as a Shipwright apprentice in 1945, served 5 years apprenticeship plus 2 and one half years as journeyman.
