More about this scene
We are looking south-eastwards from the Yetminster road towards the mediaeval Hamstone cross in a triangle of cobbles (centre), with roads at the junction signed to Sherborne (left) and Chetnole (right). The plinth and the shaft of the cross date from the 15th century. The village shop (right) was run by Pamela and Peter Mills, and his green Standard van is parked outside. Cross Farm is on the opposite corner (left), and the school is straight ahead.
