My grandparents Bill and Alice Guy lived in a cottage on the farm at Lock where my grandad worked and I believe my Granny did starching for the 'big house'. She used to tell me of the happy memories on the farm and the great respect she had for the Harvey family. I remember Lock Farm; Mr Harvey used to ride around on his horse with a pair of binoculars. My father worked for him during the middle era of the war. We, as children, walked from Lock to school every day, Mr Gumbrell was the headmaster. I wonder if the clock is still up on the old barn? I was seven years old at the time. My grandparents owned Lock Farm and I remember the adventures I had there exploring the house, and getting lost on the farm. I haven't been back to the area in many years, I know the house is still there and the farm was split up. My father loved the Green Man pub and we often had lunch there.... I wonder if anyone in the area remembers the Harvey family? Sally
