Haydock Ave., Islip Manor, St.Vincents....What Memories....
A Memory of Northolt.
I lived 8,Haydock Ave,.next to old peoples home, opposite the back of the shops service road, including the Cabin.1955 to 1967. My parents Reg & Bea with my older brother Terry. I was born Perivale hospital
1950. .1955 attended Islip Manor infants and then juniors.. Attended Vincents 1961-1966. Absolutely fabulous childhood, playing on the derelict grandstand, which later became a great mound of earth for track biking. I had a paper round from the Cabin covering Sussex Cres.,, Southwell Ave., and local closes. Loved going Sunday evenings to St,Richards club to the '65 club, especially if the local group, Kenny and the Shanes were playing!
Regular to the Load Of Hay with Colin Timbury, Len Broomhead, Steve Lloyd, Alan Turner, Jeff Parsons (who I'm still close pals with), etc., Very sad at age 17 when we moved to Maidenhead, but enjoyed opportunity to attend reunions over last two years at Northolt community centre and look forward to more.
I feel very privileged to have grown-up in Northolt at a very special time, Dean Mitchell....
Since posting , sadly Alan Turner, 'Big Al' passed away. ... I made contact with Colin Timbury
