More about this scene
This is the area which was at the entrance to Central Pier; at this time it was the centre for visitors in Morecambe. This is reflected by the number of dining rooms we can see on our photograph. As well as the Star Dining Rooms and the Pier Head Dining Room on its left, we have another on the very right of our view. The Queen's Hotel is just to the right of the clock tower; it was one of the resort's main hotels at this time. If we look closely, we can see the tower still peeping over the rooftops on the left.
