Do You Remember The Toy Shop?

A Memory of Mitcham.

I remember the train set that used to run around the toy shop, you used to put a penny in the slot and it would run into the back of the shop and out again. I was born in Mitcham in 1950 and lived in Glebe Court on the top floor looking out onto the post office, when I was about 6ish (long time ago).

I remember the toy shop. It was just up the road from my grandparents fruit & veg shop. My memories are from around 1970-74, there was sometimes a 'lucky dip', couldn't do that now! Remember the train set too.

Not sure if you still look at this site but trying to trace Joy Luby and David Taylor who also lived in the same block of flats overlooking the post office.They were school chums of mine .Thanks .Theresa Jackson nee Lay
