Cinema Memories
A Memory of Mitcham.
My mother took me to the Majestic on a number of occasions. We were not cinema buffs and apart from one occasion, I seem to remember that I only went with her. Some of the films mentioned could have been shown in the early 1940s.
I remember "The Chocolate Soldier", "The Wizard of Oz", "The Purple Heart", I think was the title of an American film about American airmen shot down by the Japanese and then shot. This was obviously in the 1940s, as was the film "The Great Dictator" in which Charlie Chaplin starred.
