Marske By The Sea, The Beach Looking South c.1955

More about this scene
The beaches between Marske and Saltburn were considered to be of the highest quality, with racing events and speed records for cars and motor cycles taking place from 1906 until after the Second World War. The tents in this view indicate that this is the 1950s period - it would be surprising to find them put up on the beach today. Huntcliffe beyond Saltburn falls steeply into the sea in the distance.
