A Memory of Marchwood Park.

I attended the preparatory school in the late fifties, early sixties, in its then lovely grounds as a boarder.

Hello
I was also a boarder at Marchwood in the early 60's
And I do remember you Willey, you were above me in school but remember you as a fast runner.
I believe I have a school photo with you in it, and me, the cricket 1st 11.

I was there from 1959 to 1962, remember it well
I was there in the early 60's - I went from Gunnesbury Park school, and then went onto Embley
I arrived at Marchwood Park Prep School in September 1952, right after it started. W.B. Henderson was the Head Master. The other staff I remember were:- Mr. Kemp, Mr. Shipman, Mr. Kenyon-Lees, Mr. O'Farrell, Mr. Perkins, Mr. McTaggart, Mrs. Atwater. Mr. Banks was the handyman. Mrs. Johnson the Head Matron. The 4 Houses were, Dibden, Beaulieu, Hythe, Lyndhurst. I was in Lyndhurst from '52 to July 1956. The first group of boarders came from Embley Park School as the overflow in 1952. There were a few Day boys from around the area and as far away as Totton and outskirts of Southampton. I have early school photos and sports team photos from '54'55'56, if anyone's interested. I have tried finding some of my peers from that era, but have so far been unsuccessful. Angus Trent.
My wife and our two small kids now live in the Gardeners Cottage, attached to the garden walls at the southern end of the garden. I would love to talk to anyone who can remember the walled garden or even, impossibly, has any photographs from the house or garden as we try to piece together what the walled garden looked like, what was where and what was growing here?
