More about this scene
Malham is one of the great showplaces of the Yorkshire Dales, with its scenic splendours of Malham Cove and Gordale Scar, carved in limestone. The Buck Hotel, seen in the centre of the picture, is still a popular hostelry, while the Airedale Hotel on the left provided lunches and teas for the fast-expanding tourist market, in addition to accommodation.
