The Simon Doctors

A Memory of Maidenhead.

Ken Simon was our family doctor in the 40´s as was his father before him. Their surgery was at the bottom of Castle hill, on the left going up the hill in a big old Victorian property, they were both very caring.

I wonder if this is the same house and surgery that Dr. Anderson and his family were living in in 1915 before and after - 9 Castle Hill - now replaced by the town houses on the Frascati Way roundabout? I am researching Lieutenant John Walton Bamber who became engaged to one of the Anderson daughters prior to his going to France to be killed at the Somme on 1.7.1916. Nos. 11 and 13 Castle Hill are still in existence and presumably looked similar to no. 9.
