My G Grandfather and G Grandmother Thomas & Eliza Webb owned the local butcher shop, he resided in Lyminge for the 31 years, was a butcher and for many years he was a chorister, bellringer, member of the parish council and gardeners society. My grandparents lived in Church Cottages, a stone's throw from the church. As a child I remember staying with my grandparents, the toilet in the garden, and having a bath, Nan used to pull down the tin tub, cleanest in first, the dirtest in last,.
