Ennos Ancestors

A Memory of Little Waltham.

Hi,
I have been researching my wife's family history. She was an Ennos, and I have found that there were a number of families with the name Ennos in Little Waltham during the 1800's. Are any of them still around? I'd love to make contact.
Ancestors were Ernest Ennos, William Ennos, James Ennos.
Thanks
John

Nice picture of Little Waltham with the Ridleys beer sign. The Ennos family is exclusive to Essex as the spelling is based on one vicar's spelling of the name "Innes" early in the 19th century, so all Ennoses are quite closely related. It is from Little Waltham and Broomfield. I lived in Broomfield for a couple of years and met an old boy by the name of Ennos in Broomfield and he pronounced his surname "Innus". My great great great grandmother Eliza Ennos is buried in the churchyard in Broomfield.

From my researches, the Ennos family originally came from Bocking near Braintree, which was a major centre for hand weaving in the 18th century. My family name was due to die out but two years ago I had a son when I was aged 53 so it will carry on in my branch.
