Lincoln, High Street c.1950

More about this scene
We are now within the Roman and medieval city walls. The view north along High Street is terminated by a white gabled building, now O'Neills pub. The road deviates to the right here, to tackle the climb of 150 feet up The Strait and Steep Hill. This view shows some of the pre-war commercial rebuilding, including an Art Deco Burton's on the left and a Neo-Georgian Boots.
