More about this scene
Castle Street c1955. This attractive close-studded timbered house of the mid 15th century provides a fine, almost secret entrance to Castle Yard. Sited on the north west angle of the Church of St Mary de Castro, and opposite the Norman Great Hall, the whole ambience stirs feelings of regret that just a little more of early Leicester could not survive.
