More about this scene
This is red brick village Leicestershire at its best: nothing ostentatious in either the well- designed row of cottages (right) terminated by the Three Horseshoes pub, small and welcoming, or in the earlier farm group on the left. Although this must be part of a designated Conservation Area, it is so often fertile ground for the bonus- earning double glazing salesmen, who will assure the householder, without batting an eyelid, that he or she will 'never notice the difference' between the original timber sashes and casements and his plastic ones.
