A Lost Cause.
A Memory of Hythe.
I remember the Anchor & hope very well, it was back in about 1973 when Dallas Bullen's father was the landlord, me and some mate's had been drinking in the public bar, and i left a brand new cardigan, that my mother had taken week's to knit, behind. Several week's went by before i remembered where i had left it, so i went back to the pub to ask if anyone had put it behind the bar for me, to my amazement, there stood Dallas, all 22+ stone of him, wearing my cardigan, he had stretched it that much to get it on and the thread's had opened up so wide that it looked like a string vest on him, i never even mentioned it,there was no point, it was never going to fit me again. I just ordered a pint and smiled to myself, thinking how ridiculous he looked, and what my mum was going to make of it ! MICK REYNOLDS.
