More about this scene
Two motor cars are visible, but few street markings and signs, apart from the one on the right by the bow-windowed shop in the stone-built terrace. The road leads to the bridge over the River Wenning, which flooded two years ago. Beyond the bridge are the castle and the estate, and two churches, one the Roman Catholic church where John Lingard preached. There are many new houses here now, which are occupied by commuters to Lancaster and Heysham.
