Hoard's Park,Shropshire

A Memory of Hoards Park.

My great, great, great grandfather Benjamin Wase (a surgeon) lived in this area of Shropshire. His son, John Holland Wase I, lived and raised his family at Hoard's Park. John Holland Wase I was an engineer but became involved in the iron manufacturing and trade as did most of his male relatives. John Holland I became wealthy from the iron trade and I believe he made the additions and renovations to Hoard's Park in the mid 1800'. I only discovered this background through my genealogy research and was so pleased to find that Hoard's Park was for sale. It was through this real estate listing that I was able to find photos of Hoard's Park. The eldest son of John Holland Wase I emigrated to Canada in 1868 after a family discord and never returned to Hoard's Park. He was named for his father and is known as John Holland Wase II. I am fortunate to have photos of the children of John Holland Wase I. I would dearly love to correspond with anyone else who may have stories of the Wase family who lived at Hoard's Park for many many years. Juanita DeRoo
