More about this scene
This shows Old Hall (the former medieval Guildhall), the church, Church Lane, Friday Cottage (far right), Fen Lane with its finger post, and the bridge over the river Brett. One of the cottages in the row was occupied by Frederick Butcher, the parish gravedigger. The three were converted into one in the late 1990s, although the positions of the doors and windows can still be seen under the plasterwork.
