Rose And Crown
A Memory of Highgate.
I lived in the Rose and Crown for years with my parents Fred and Shelia Dunbar .. Many happy memories indeed in the village ... I have fond memory of people and business in the village
I have been up there not long ago, infact i held my mums funeral back in the rose and crown what a sad bad memorable day .. Nest door to the pub there is a little shop with a large stone lion its now painted silver well i still have the other one in my garden it has moved around my homes with me , its lovely to see its twin ... Jennifer was always a dear fiend from Oliver the greengrocers , and faces i remember from other shops but have forgotten names. I have 2 beautiful water colours of the pub painted by a local artist his name was Bob Spearman they hang with pride in my home.
Oh yes very happy days in the village
Delia Newman was Dunbar
