St Davids College

A Memory of High Wycombe.

My sister Carolyn Trew attended St Davids and I joined her age 4, but I was only there a year before it closed.
I can’t remember all the teachers names, but remember one teacher letting us out and he knew all the pupils names I remember the rumble of the trains when we were down in the “ indoor playground” and the walks down to The Rye where we did our sports jumping on the wall of the bandstand.
I used to meet my Mum outside Murray’s, as when St Davids closed I went to The Church of England School opposite Loakes Park.
My Nannie, Florence Trew worked at The Red Lion , did it become the Falcon?
Lots of memories of HW!

To keep the thread growing... my name is John Shortland and I was at school with Carolyn from 1956 to 1962, first at Burleighfield House, Loudwater and then at Amersham Hill. Names from the past: Maxine Beeks, Stephen Hyde, Nigel Brocklebank, Patrick Rees, Roger Jackson, Carlo Ford, Martin Upton, Alan Plater. Teachers were Miss Vine and Mrs Lacey at Loudwater and Badger Clarke at Wycombe.
There's also an old thread from 2019 for St Davids which is worth a read!
