More about this scene
Built about 1726, in the early 20th century High House was a co-educational boarding school founded by Harry Lowerinson. In 1926 it was taken over by the Workers Travel Association and used as holiday accommodation until the Second World War, when it became a billet for Polish troops. Reverting to holiday accommodation after the war it fell into disrepair, and its grounds were used for housing development in the mid 1970s.
