More about this scene
Solid, if plain, buildings on both sides of Fore Street give this district of Hayle the look of a mining town. The name comes from the copper works, which closed in the early 19th century. In the foreground is Edwin Broad's draper's shop. Shades and awnings suggest that this is summer.
