More about this scene
Originally in Staffordshire, Harborne was taken into Birmingham in 1891. It had already been popular with wealthy city merchants for a century or so, and much housing development had taken place along the High Street. Today, Harborne remains a largely residential suburb, with a great diversity of housing. Prominent residents have included the poet W H Auden and the artist David Cox.
