Pasture Road has been recently re-paved, but it is still the location for many of the local retail businesses. In recent years it has held highly successful Christmas events which see the road closed to traffic and a street fair held.

I visited Goole in September 2008 in search of information on the families of Bernard Knowles Brook and his son Matthew Moorhouse Brook, who was my grandfather. I obtained important but tragic news about Bernard and his accidental drowning at Keadby in July 1876.
