Farnham, The Old Hop Kilns 1934

More about this scene
This pastoral scene alongside the River Wey still exists, in spite of the proximity of the busy Farnham by-pass behind the camera. The hop kilns have lost their distinctive chimneys, and the buildings beneath were re-utilised as a scout hut. The main railway line runs along the embankment behind the line of trees in the left foreground.
