Falmouth, Custom House Quay c.1950

More about this scene
Seen here at low tide, the old stone-built quay is reached by Quay Hill from Arwenack Street. At the far end is North Quay with the harbour tug company's office building. Behind and just to the right of it is a rare view of the town gasworks with its own quay for unloading coal in the background; it has long since been demolished to become a car park.
