This flint and brick village on the downs north of Brighton is now severed in two by the main A27. The village pond is an old dewpond; it is surrounded by sarsen stones found on the downs. In the early 1970s, it was home to a swan nicknamed 'Fiery Fred' who attacked people.

2 great characters on the teaching staff at the time, yet very different!
Mrs Fleming was an energetic and lively drama teacher whilst Miss Woolnough was an old-school lecturer. I remember dozing off during her lectures.
