More about this scene
Eyensbury is now in Cambridgeshire but was formerly in Huntingdonshire. Eynesbury very much plays second fiddle to the town of St Neots, from which it is separated only by the Hen Brook. Indeed, in this view the superb early 16th-century pinnacled church tower belongs to St Mary's Church in St Neots. Eynesbury's rather humber parish church is behind the photographer. Most of the houses on the left survive, although the leaded casements have been replaced.
