More about this scene
The Pavilion was built in 1933 and has recently been renovated. A competition was held for a design for this theatre as early as 1928, with many architects submitting designs. Local councillors frowned at the cost of the winning design, and it was quietly shelved. The town's own surveyor eventually came up with a plan for the present theatre.
