On leaving school in the early 1969's my very first job was delivering food orders from a local Co-Operative grocery shop in the Well Hall area by means of a trade bike. This was a big sturdy bicycle fitted with a huge metal basket on the front, big enough to carry quite large orders to customers in the locality. Mum worked in the basement in the shoe department on a saturday in early 60's
I was born in Mottingham in 1951 .but from the age of 9 years I caught the 161 bus to Eltham on a weekend ,duffel bag on my back and went to Green Gate Stables which was at the back of shops at the top end of the high st...run by Bill Muttit..he had a lovely variety of old horses and ponies from Shetlands (Jock & Little Jim)to a feathered piebald cart horse called.Stella....There were a few of us keen youngsters ...see more
Hi , my dad grew up in eltham and we have a big family mystery ongoing . I have pictures of people dating back to the 50’s and 60’s. I am wondering if any of you fine people would know the names of these people . I won’t share the mystery as yet as I need to find out if anyone remembers these people
