Cockfosters, Heddon Court Parade c.1965

More about this scene
Situated a short distance to the south of the underground station, this archetypal 1930s parade of shops and flats sits comfortably with it and its well-treed and manicured surroundings. Until the arrival of the Piccadilly Line in 1933, Cockfosters was little more than a rural hamlet, and even now it is on the very northern edge of London as it extends out into Enfield Chase.
