A young boy pushes a handcart towards the camera on this street running south towards the church of St Peter, as two elegantly hatted ladies drive their pony and trap past a sunbathing dog on the pavement outside the George Inn. According to a previous landlord, this building was haunted. Just beyond its swinging sign is the entrance to Willett & Sons' shoeing forge.

Mother And Baby Home
Does anyone remember the Mother and baby home in Chertsey… Or was anyone there in 1972 ? Mrs. Thompson was the cook…she was very nice and her dinners were delicious… The lady who’s name I can’t remember was in charge of the home was lovely , very caring and non judgemental… I shared a room with Bridget who went back to Ireland….. Would love to hear from anyone who was there in 1972/3…. It was the best home I was in……very caring …

Home Of Handicrafts, Eastworth Rd. Chertsey
The boys home was an awful place but I remember falling in love with a blonde haired angel who like me, attended Stepgates School. Her name was Gillian Vincent and I still have a photograph of her tucked away somewhere. After this romance ended, I fell for Josephine Roake of Station Rd, Chertsey and later, for her her elder sister Josephine, with whom I corresponded briefly after leaving ...see more

St Thomas's School
This was St Thomas's RC secondary school when I attended between 1957 and 1962. We had some fun and didn't learn much. More memories from past pupils are on the Friends Reunited website.

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
