Carshalton's ponds, which are spring-fed and lead to the River Wandle, are a most attractive feature in the centre of the village. Further lakes and streams flow through the grounds of The Grove, which was once a private house, but is now a delightful public park. In this view looking southwest from Honeywood Walk to Pound Street, the Greyhound pub is part 18th-century and part 19th-century Jacobean. On the right is Honeywood House, pictured here before it was extended in 1903. It is now the London Borough of Sutton's Heritage Centre.

Nigel And His Sister 1968 1969 1970

I remember NIgel, If I remember rightly his parents ran the Café on a roundabout. At Carshalton. His sister was going out with a trainee Doctor. We used to go around with ROBERT, We used to go to the WOODSTOCK , Tania and I Used to say we were Nigel's sisters. We used to be such good friends, why did we lose contact. Would love to hear from Nigel and Robert.

The Beeches Avenue

We lived at number 20 from the early 50's to 1969 when we moved down to Devon. It was a lovely street to live in with the magnificent beeches all along. Nice neighbours- the Radfords at number 16 and the Huttons at 22. We had a plot of land between us and number 18- Miss Vine- which was sold for building when we moved.
