More about this scene

The Sheffield Arms dominates the scene, and still does to this day. The corner shop has gone, and Darley's Ales are not available - the hostelry is now part of the Pubmaster chain. For the pub to be advertising a 'large car park' at this date suggests that the clientele came from outside the village, and that they were somewhat up-market to be car owners in the '50s.
