Port Regis Convent

A Memory of Broadstairs.

I was sent to Port Regis Convent between 1963 and 1967, I had bad asthma and the sea air was thought to be good for my health. I have good and and bad memories. One nun I remember being cruel was Sister Peter Anthony but the lovely ones were Sister Patrick Mary who I think was from Dublin, Sisterr Veronica and Sister Ursula, I think she was from Germany, they were really kind. I had a good friend called Geraldine Lee, I think she was from Manchester, and Cecilia Lennon who was from Newry.
My surname was McGaffin then.

Hi Alana I was there in 1962 -64. Do you remember a large model ship i often wonder what was the name of the ship and it’s actual size Being a small child it seemed massive. I can see it in my mind as being over 2meters long. but I sure that can’t be true. My surname is mcgowan do you remember that
