More about this scene
To the left is the side elevation of the Market Hall, and to the right The Royal Clarence Hotel; this is of about 1835, with tall first-floor sash windows and a columned porch. It is now no longer an hotel, but shops with offices above. The cab rank and shelter have, of course, gone; further along to the right is now the grossly porticoed entrance to the Angel Place Shopping Centre.
